Subject: Annual Dinner Auction celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the D.O.V.E. Fund
The D.O.V.E. Fund is busily planning its annual dinner auction which will mark the organization’s 25th Anniversary. The event will be held at the Pinnacle Banquet center in Maumee, Ohio and will feature a cocktail hour reception where guests can browse among hundreds of both silent and live auction items before sitting down to an elegant, complimentary dinner and live musical entertainment. D.O.V.E. Fund Trustee, Steve Sczesny will emcee the evening’s activities and will be joined by guest auctioneer and Toledo area TV personality, Jerry Anderson.

Auction chair and D.O.V.E. Fund trustee, Jan Metzger says, "We have such a wide range of unique Live Auction items, from Florida getaways to long weekends on Lake Erie beaches, country club golf packages, Ohio State football, lake and river cruises. As in previous years, those who cannot attend may join auction goers by registering at www.dovefund.org/auction. Early registrants will have a chance to browse auction items online and submit bids on their mobile devices.
Recent travelers to Vietnam have returned with some unique items that will be available for bidding in the silent auction. Tables filled with clothing, jewelry and silks will be on the auction block, along with artwork and a variety of household items. Certificates for vacation destinations and fine dining at local restaurants will also be available.
"This is our most popular event”, says D.O.V.E. Fund Chairman and founding member, Fred Grimm of Holland, OH, “every year we try to make this evening a little special.” Grimm, a Vietnam veteran and Purple Heart recipient, returned from Vietnam earlier this year where the group celebrated its 25th Anniversary at a reception in Ho Chi Minh City.
Singer, songwriter, Dan May, who wrote the song, “DOVE”, several years ago will perform onstage with a new song he wrote just for the 25th anniversary celebration. May made his first trip to Vietnam this year and performed at the reception in Ho Chi Minh City. Joining Dan will be special musical guest and Honorary Board member, Tom Treece. A Vietnam veteran and Purple Heart recipient, Treece, who hails from Monroe, Michigan, was part of the original group of veterans who helped found the D.O.V.E. Fund 25 years ago.

The D.O.V.E. Fund, an acronym for the Development Of Vietnam Endeavors, is an Ohio based 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to helping the people of Vietnam through a range of humanitarian aid.
The group, chartered in January 2000, has raised almost $6.5 million and has built more than 59 schools along with medical clinics, clean water, and micro-finance projects throughout the country. They also provide leper assistance and aid for victims of Agent Orange. The organization has also helped thousands of young scholars by providing financial aid to impoverished students through D.O.V.E. Fund Scholarship Program.
Since its founding in 2000 in Toledo, the D.O.V.E. Fund has grown to include 25 members of the Board of Trustees - many of whom are veterans - a full-time liaison in Vietnam and members throughout the United States.
