Wednesday at Woodlands Features Music by Justin Marchand

The City of Perrysburg’s Wednesday at Woodlands concert series continues with a performance by Perrysburg native Justin Marchand on Wednesday, August 20, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the Woodlands Park shelter area, 429 E. Boundary Street. Guests are encouraged to bring a chair, picnic tables fill quickly.

 

A graduate of Perrysburg High School, Marchand began performing music in his early years with fellow PHS alumni Ryan Dunlap, Mike Haskins, and Jake Pilewski, musicians who have remained active in the area music scene. He was part of the band in high school with Jake Pilewski and Mike Haskins, later with Ryan Dunlap.  Marchand and Jake Pilewski continue to collaborate.  

 

For the past 22 years, Marchand has served in the U.S. Marine Corps and Army National Guard as a corrections officer and infantryman, with deployments and assignments in Okinawa, Iraq, Kuwait, Syria, and Afghanistan. Now approaching retirement from active duty next year  he is steadily building a second career in music.

Marchand’s guitar-driven sound blends elements of soul rock, blues, Americana, and early R&B. His recent performances include a solo show at the Listening Loft in Maumee, playing the national anthem at a Toledo Mud Hens game, and performing as the “tunnel guitarist” for the Cleveland Browns playing live on the field as players entered the stadium. He recently released a single titled Hardships, now available on all major streaming platforms and YouTube, which will be performed during his concert at Woodlands Park.

 

With a wife, five daughters, a career in the service, and a passion for music driving him forward, Justin Marchand brings both life experience and heartfelt artistry to the stage.
