Academy for Urban Scholars High School to Open New Toledo Campus with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
Toledo, Ohio – Sept. 2, 2025 – The Academy for Urban Scholars (AUS) High School will celebrate the grand opening of its newest campus in Toledo with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, Sept. 8, at 10 a.m. at 1853 South Ave., Toledo, OH 43609.
The new high school expands AUS’s mission of preparing students to become college-ready, work-ready, and socially responsible leaders. As a public charter school and Career Technical Education (CTE) provider, AUS combines academic instruction with hands-on training, ensuring that scholars graduate with both a diploma and valuable workforce credentials.
In addition to meeting state academic standards, the Toledo campus will provide students with access to career pathways in high-demand fields, including healthcare, information technology, logistics, and advanced manufacturing. Wraparound, family engagement services, and community partnerships will further support scholars' growth both inside and outside of the classroom.
“I’m incredibly excited about the future of our scholars. At AUS, we’re offering a public school education with a private school experience. This is more than a high school; it’s a launchpad for their future,” said Kimberly Scribner, director of the Academy for Urban Scholars High School in Toledo.
With the launch of the Toledo location, AUS now operates six locations across Ohio, extending its holistic model of education and workforce preparation to even more students and families.
