Acclaimed composer and performer Jim Scott will bring A Vision for the Planet to First Unitarian Church for a concert at 7pm Friday, October 17. A Vision for the Planet is Jim Scott’s powerful multimedia presentation with music and visuals that celebrate the beauty, wonder, and fragility of our Earth. With soulful melodies, inspiring poetry, and moving imagery, Jim Scott invites the audience to ponder the urgency of protecting our planet while finding hope and connection through song. Known for his work as a composer, performer, and activist, Jim Scott has touched audiences around the world with music that uplifts, inspires, and unites. His songs, rich with themes of peace, justice, and environmental awareness, encourage us all to envision a more sustainable and compassionate future. Besides his performing solo as a singer/songwriter, Jim Scott is cowriter of the Missa Gaia—Earth Mass for the Paul Winter Consort, with whom he has also performed.
