The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Becomes Blood Cancer United New Name, Same Mission: Supporting Every Blood Cancer Patient
2026 Visionaries of the Year Campaign Updates
Toledo, OH — The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society — is now Blood Cancer United, the largest global nonprofit focused on serving blood cancer patients, and its Connecticut-Albany-Eastern region is proud to join the movement to reach more blood cancer patients and their families across the Capital District. Blood Cancer United is proud to announce its 2026 Visionaries of the Year campaign, a dynamic fundraising competition that unites local leaders and changemakers in the fight against blood cancer. This year’s campaign introduces Justin Reynolds as the new Visionaries of the Year Manager, who will lead the effort to recruit, inspire, and support a new class of candidates committed to driving meaningful impact in northwest Ohio.
Reynolds brings a passion for community leadership and philanthropy, and he will be joined by Co-Chairs Rebecca Shope and Brian Epstein, both former Visionaries of the Year who exemplify the spirit of the campaign. Shope and Epstein will mentor candidates throughout the season and help amplify the mission of Blood Cancer United to advance life-saving research and patient support programs.
The campaign will culminate with the Grand Finale Celebration on June 5, 2026, hosted at Toledo Pickle, where the next Visionary of the Year will be crowned and the community’s collective achievements will be celebrated.
