BASH Celebrates 40th Year of BASHCon
The Benevolent Adventurers’ Strategic Headquarters, a gaming-centered student organization at the University of Toledo, is celebrating 40 consecutive years of hosting their convention BASHCon. Every year, students band together to organize this three day celebration of all things nerdy, highlighting a wide array of gaming styles. From tabletop games, to video games, live action roleplay foam fighting, boardgames, console based tournaments, cosplaying and much more, there’s plenty of options to enjoy! Taking place Friday February 6th through Sunday February 8th, the Lancelot Thompson Student Union will become the hub for BASHCon 40.
During the weekend, a range of over 30 local artists and vendors will be selling their wares in an extensive exhibitor hall, becoming your one-stop-shop for gaming related goods. This year will host the most vendors in BASHCon history, in both numbers and artistic diversity. Within the hall, discover some handcrafted and designed TTRPG supplies, dice, leather goods, decorative swords, geeky stuffed animals, magical goblets, fantasy inspired merchandise, esoteric art and much more. Student attendees can visit the student led sustainability organization, Student Green Fund, to adopt a free emotional support plant in collaboration with BASH.
Throughout the building, hourly events will fill up every minute. Explore all aspects of gaming with new and returning hosts. You can look forward to Santa’s Toybox bringing an all inclusive boardgame catalog and tabletop creators hosting how-to-plays of their very own creations, including hosts such as: Pieramyd Productions, Bree Orlock and Cthulhu International, Weighted Dice, and Blackswamp 3D. With multiple sessions each day, Brick Battles will take you on an adventure through elaborate miniature figure terrains while Multiverse Madness will traverse you through dimensions. Learn how to play the beloved TTRPGs, Pathfinder and Starfinder, with the area’s best game masters. Local live action roleplay community, Realm of Sanctorium, will teach you how to battle with style in their fantasy inspired foam fighting on Saturday. Also on Saturday, take pictures with the 501st Rebel Legion members or their Ewok Village! Along with an open console video gaming room, there will be multiple Super Smash Bros tournaments in partnership with the University of Toledo’s ESports Team including grand prizes.

If you are looking to sell or buy any gently used games or nerdy merchandise, visit our BASHCon Games Bazaar on Saturday at 1:00 pm. All items being sold must be given to our informational desk by noon with a filled out copy of our Bazaar form on our website. The Bazaar will last until all items are sold with seller reimbursement following soon after.
With all ages welcome, there’s fun for everyone! Discover your new favorite gaming hobby or continue with your nerdy passion. Tickets are on sale now at utbashcon.com; University of Toledo staff and students receive free admission with their UT ID. All Anniversary Entry badges will include specially designed limited edition BASHCon 40 merchandise while supporting the local Pit Crew charity.
