Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity hosts Sip & Shop event to build home for local mother of five

Posted: Wednesday, April 29, 2026 by: Caroline Guy | Category: Community Interest

On Sunday, May 3 the community is invited to Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity’s (MVHFH) Sip & Shop event!  With 20 local artists and vendors, attendees will be able to shop everything from clothing, jewelry, on-site massages, food and baked goods, home décor, and more.

Each $10 ticket includes food, drink, and a raffle ticket. Participants can purchase additional raffle tickets for the chance to win items donated by vendors. All proceeds from Sip & Shop will go directly to Women Build, a signature home build of MVHFH’s Homeownership Program.

Women Build aims to empower women to pursue their dream of homeownership. This year women from across Lucas County will come together to build for Amanda, a dedicated mother of five children. For Amanda, owning a home would provide her children with the space, privacy, and stability they need to grow, learn, and thrive. It would mean each child having a safe place of their own, the opportunity to focus on school and personal development, and the freedom simply be kids without the constant stress that comes with overcrowded apartment living. This is what participants are making possible by supporting Women Build!

Date: Sunday, May 3
Time: 12:00 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Location: 1310 Conant Street, Maumee
Ticket: $10 (includes food, drink, and one raffle ticket)

Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.
