Uniforms on the Runway
Good Morning,
I hope you are doing well. I am reaching out on behalf of W.E.S. & I, Inc. (Widows Empowered, Strengthened & I) to invite your station to cover a unique and inspiring community event taking place in the Toledo area.
On Saturday, June 13, 2026, W.E.S. & I will host our 5th Annual “Uniforms on the Runway” Fashion Show Fundraiser at The Pinnacle in Maumee from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
This special event features local first responders from the Toledo Police Department, Toledo Fire & Rescue, and the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office stepping onto the runway to support widows and women who are navigating life after loss.
W.E.S. & I is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering, strengthening, and educating widows through support, training, and community partnerships. According to census data, thousands of widowed women live in the Toledo area, highlighting the importance of programs that provide encouragement, resources, and hope during life’s most challenging transitions.
We would be honored if your station would consider covering this event or helping us share this story with the community. It is a powerful example of first responders and community members coming together to support women in need.
