The Kwanzaa Park Neighbors will welcome Idell Watson as guest speaker to the regular monthly Block Watch meeting. Idell Watson is the Founder of Widows Empowered Strengthened & I (WES & I).
Idell’s husband Wesley (Wes) who was with the police department for over 20 years passed away leaving her in continual tears and broken hearted. She had a great need for support and comfort and went searching for it in the Toledo area. Finding none, she then decided to join together other widows who were walking the same path that she was. WES & I is an organization of women who are there to embrace each other with love and compassion and to empower, strengthen and encourage.
Sometimes in life we feel like we are all alone in our grief. BUT KNOW THAT YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Reach out to someone who has been there before. If you need to reach out to someone please join Idell and others as she comes to embrace and empower and strengthen.
During the meeting our Community Officer from the Toledo Police Department will give the crime statistics for our neighborhood. An update on St. Anthoiny church will be provided. The Block Watch meeting offers an opportunity for neighbors to share concerns for the neighborhood and to work with not only the Toledo Police Department but the Fire Department as well to enhance public safety.
This meeting is free and open to the public. There will be refreshments following the meeting.
With construction work continuing at St. Anthony Church, parking maybe tricky. Parking is still available in the back parking lot but you will need to come to the front door to enter the building (you must go through the side gate by the garage and walk up through the side yard). Parking is also available in the front on Nebraska Ave. (and is preferred) There is a ramp located in front on the east side of the building for those who would like to use it.
