Local Nonprofit Holds Fundraiser to Benefit Families and Individuals in Need of Funeral and Burial Assistance

On Sunday, July 12, 2026, The Final Farewell Project will host its first annual Celebration of Life Summer Fundraiser from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the American Legion Walter Weller Post 135, located at 2404 W. Sylvania Ave., Toledo, OH 43613.

The event will include catering by Tony Packos, a basket raffle and auction, a 50/50 raffle, and door prizes. The formal program will begin at 4:00 PM to honor local citizens of Northwest Ohio who have made a significant impact on our community.

"Every person deserves to be laid to rest with dignity, regardless of their financial circumstances," stated Dorene Sherman, President and Founder. "We work to ensure the most vulnerable in our community receive assistance when needed, and we look forward to sharing our mission during this event."

Ticket Information:

  - Price: $35 per ticket (buy one, get one free).
