Decent Folk Brings Music and a Message to Wednesday at Woodlands
The Wednesday at Woodlands concert series continues on Wednesday, July 29, from noon to 1:00 p.m. at Woodlands Park, 429 E. Boundary Street in Perrysburg. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket, as picnic tables fill quickly.
For Decent Folk, music has always been about more than performing. While the band's blend of folk and rock has entertained audiences for nearly two decades, its members are equally committed to creating an atmosphere of friendship, goodwill and genuine human connection.
Officially formed in 2008, the band grew out of a longtime friendship between Nat Ducat and Bryan Sigrist. Before becoming a full band, the pair spent years busking on street corners and playing around campfires at music festivals, experiences that helped shape the spirit of Decent Folk.
The band's name reflects that philosophy. "Decent Folk is who we are and what we do," Ducat said. "We come together to promote positive actions and outlooks. We seek to form bonds with our audience to promote goodwill and decency in our world." That same spirit carries into the band's music. Ducat describes Decent Folk's sound as an engaging blend of heartfelt folk, rock and what he calls "cosmic Americana," with a performance featuring familiar covers alongside original songs "that sound like you've known them for years."
The band's lineup features Ducat on electric banjo, Bryan Sigrist on bass, Jason Black on guitar, Bryan Quigley on keyboards and Jake Campagna on drums. Together, they blend accomplished musicianship with an inviting style that encourages audiences to relax, connect and simply enjoy the experience.
