20 North Gallery names Anastasia Wagner as new Associate Art Director
Former college intern achieves executive position at Toledo’s oldest independent gallery
Toledo, OH—July 15, 2026 20 North Gallery is delighted to name longtime employee Anastasia Wagner as their new Associate Art Director, joining gallery owner Eric Hillenbrand and Art Director Condessa Croninger in executive leadership of Toledo’s oldest independent gallery.
Anastasia Wagner began at 20 North in September of 2017, in an academic internship through the University of Toledo, commencing her professional employment as an entry-level Gallery Associate in March of 2018. Promoted to Coordinator in 2019, her duties were expanded to cover day-to-day operations as Gallery Manager in March of 2023, whilst honing her skills in curation of exhibitions and recommendations for the selection of artists for representation. Among her numerous achievements at 20 North Gallery are the curation of “Joanne Grossmann: the Larger Narrative” (a posthumous retrospective of the late Toledo artist who is now experiencing a renaissance), which later traveled to the Midwest Museum of American Art (Elkhart, Indiana), as well as assisting in multiple acquisitions by Midwest Museum of American Art and the Maier Museum of Art (Lynchburg, Virginia), and facilitating artwork acquisition by the Smithsonian National Museum of American History (Washington, D.C.).
As Associate Art Director, Wagner joins Art Director Condessa Croninger in selecting artists and artwork for upcoming exhibitions, fostering relations with art institutions and collectors, promoting the artwork and professional profiles of represented artists, and furthering the brand identity of 20 North Gallery.
20 North Gallery owner Eric Hillenbrand states, “From the moment she walked through our door, Anastasia fully embraced the concept of 20 North Gallery and our role in promoting the careers and preserving the legacies of noted artists of our region. For nine years, both in day-to-day operations and curatorial activities, her contributions to 20 North have expanded our reach into the community, bringing us into the ‘next generation’ in the arts, through her exceptional skills in research, design and installation, as well as her personal and avocational relationships with cohorts and colleagues, including her presidency of Athena Art Society—an organization beloved by our founding Art Director Emerita, the late Peggy Grant. Art Director Condessa Croninger and I are proud to have been part of Anastasia’s professional development in the arts and thrilled to know that 20 North Gallery and our represented artists will continue to benefit from her exemplary skills, passion and dedication in her new role as Associate Art Director.”

She has served as judge for Crosby Festival of the Arts at Toledo Botanical Garden (Ohio), Toledo Artist Club (Ohio) and the Toledo Festival of the Arts (Ohio), as well as repeated terms a grant panelist for The Arts Commission.
