Generational Differences in the Workplace Conference Coming to Perrysburg October 30
Regional conference will bring together nationally recognized experts and workplace leaders to address communication, retention, leadership and collaboration across generations
PERRYSBURG, Ohio — August 6, 2026 — Business leaders, human resources professionals and community organizations from across Northwest Ohio and the surrounding region are invited to attend the Generational Differences in the Workplace Conference on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn in Perrysburg.
The full-day conference will explore the challenges and opportunities created by today’s multigenerational workforce and provide practical strategies organizations can use to improve communication, strengthen leadership, reduce conflict and increase employee engagement.
The program will feature nationally recognized keynote speaker Dr. Tim Elmore, founder of Growing Leaders, and Dr. Willie McKether, president of WLM Cultural Communications and professor of anthropology at The University of Toledo.
“For the first time in modern history, as many as five generations are working alongside one another,” said McKether. “Each generation brings valuable experiences, expectations and ways of communicating. The goal of this conference is to help organizations move beyond stereotypes and build workplaces where those differences become a competitive advantage.”
The conference will examine generational differences through the lens of workplace culture, leadership and business performance. Sessions and panel discussions will address topics including:
- Why generational values and differences matter in today’s workplace
- Understanding generational communication styles
- Strategies leaders can use to create greater workplace harmony
- Employee engagement and talent retention
- Leadership development and succession planning
- Cross-generational mentoring and knowledge transfer
- Practical strategies for improving organizational performance
Attendees will gain actionable frameworks they can take back to their organizations to help resolve workplace tension, protect institutional knowledge and create more adaptable, collaborative teams.
The conference is designed for human resources professionals, business owners, corporate managers, team leaders, labor leaders, nonprofit and government administrators, employee engagement professionals, emerging leaders and members of multigenerational workplace teams.
Human resources professionals attending the conference may earn 6.5 professional development credit hours. The program has been approved for SHRM Professional Development Credits and HRCI General Recertification Credits.
“Generational differences affect nearly every part of an organization, from recruitment and onboarding to communication, leadership and succession planning,” McKether said. “Organizations that understand how to translate across generations will be better prepared to attract talent, retain employees and adapt to the future of work.”
In addition to educational sessions, the event will provide opportunities for attendees to network with professionals from businesses, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, government agencies and community organizations throughout the region.
Individual registration is $225 per attendee. Groups of four or more may register for $200 per person. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for companies and organizations that want to demonstrate their commitment to workforce development, leadership and cross-generational collaboration.
