Maumee Senior Center Hosts Community Presentation: Medicare 101
MAUMEE, OH – As the Medicare Open Enrollment period quickly approaches, community members are invited to attend the free presentation, Medicare 101, to learn the ins and outs of Medicare. The presentation will be presented by OSHIIP at 5:30 p.m. September, 22, 2026 at the Maumee Senior Center, 2430 S. Detroit Ave., Maumee.
Attendees will get an overview of Medicare A, B, D and Medicare Advantage including changes to Medicare in 2027.
“And they will learn what they can do to prepare for Medicare Annual Enrollment Period that runs from Oct 15 to Dec 7, 2026,” said David Painter, OSHIIP Community Liaison.
Painter has worked as a Public Information Officer with Ohio Department of Insurance/Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program since 2011. He has performed over 10,000 presentations on Medicare and related topics as well as Long Term Care Insurance. Prior to his career with OSHIIP, Painter worked with The Department of Disability, Anthem, and the Arthritis Foundation.
“Medicare can be confusing for seniors and OSHIIP helps make all of it seem simple,” said Malinda Ruble, Maumee Senior Center Executive Director.
Painter will include time for questions and answers following his presentation.
