Two Nights of Inclusive Halloween Fun, Trunk or Treat, Games, Food, Surprise Guests and More
OREGON, OHIO — Get ready for two nights of inclusive Halloween fun as the 23rd Annual S.O.A.R. Haunted Trail returns to Maumee Bay State Park on Friday, October 9 and Saturday, October 10, 2026.
Presented by S.O.A.R. (Strengthening Opportunities, Abilities, and Relationships) in partnership with the Autism Society of Northwest Ohio, the Haunted Trail brings individuals with and without disabilities together to participate, volunteer, work and have fun side by side.
The Haunted Trail is about much more than Halloween. Its mission is to break down barriers, build lasting friendships and relationships, and create a stronger, more inclusive community where everyone belongs.
EVENT SCHEDULE
Friday, October 9
- Trunk or Treat: 5:30–7:00 PM — Beach Parking Lot
- Sensory-Friendly Haunted Trail: 6:00–7:00 PM
- Spooky Haunted Trail: 7:00–10:00 PM
Saturday, October 10
- Sensory-Friendly Haunted Trail: 6:00–7:00 PM
- Spooky Haunted Trail: 7:00–10:00 PM
The Haunted Trail takes place near the Big Hill, Lot #7, at Maumee Bay State Park.
All event parking will be located at the Beach Parking Lot. Shuttle service will be provided to transport guests to and from the Haunted Trail activity area at Lot #7.
During the sensory-friendly hour, guests can experience the trail with reduced scares, creating a more welcoming opportunity for individuals who may not be comfortable with the full spooky experience.
MORE THAN A HAUNTED TRAIL
Guests will find plenty to enjoy before and after walking the trail, including Friday night Trunk or Treat, community resource booths, games and activities, face painting, a fortune teller, the Haunted Jail, Oregon Police and Fire Departments, the Chick-fil-A Food Truck, surprise guest appearances, and, of course, plenty of ghosts, ghouls, zombies, witches, monsters and other creatures lurking along the Haunted Trail!
Community organizations, schools, businesses, families and groups are creating scenes throughout the trail. Guests will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite Haunted Trail scene, with winners recognized at the Haunted Trail Awards Celebration on October 24.
HALLOWEEN WITH A PURPOSE — HELP US GIVE BACK
The S.O.A.R. Haunted Trail is not only about bringing the community together for Halloween—it is also an opportunity for the community to come together to help local individuals and families in need.
Throughout the event, S.O.A.R. will be collecting:
- Non-perishable food
- New or gently used coats
- Hygiene products
- Diapers and wipes
These donations will be distributed back into the community to help families and individuals who need them.
DONATE & RECEIVE A SPECIAL EVENT INCENTIVE
Donate a new or gently used coat OR a package of at least 25 diapers and receive one FREE admission ticket with the purchase of an adult admission.
Donate a non-perishable food item or hygiene product and receive a FREE game ticket.
Hygiene donations can include everyday necessities such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine hygiene products and other personal-care essentials.
Food donations should be unopened, non-perishable items, and donated coats should be new or gently used and in good, wearable condition.
Every donated can of food, coat, package of diapers and hygiene item is another way the Haunted Trail can make an impact beyond the two nights of the event.
SUPPORTING PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND OUR COMMUNITY
The event benefits individuals with developmental disabilities, supports the Autism Society of Northwest Ohio and Friends of Maumee Bay State Park, while also helping address needs throughout our local community.
Every part of the event—from setting up the trail to creating scenes, volunteering, welcoming guests and cleaning up—is designed to provide opportunities for people of all abilities to contribute and be an important part of their community.
