Northwest Ohio Teen Book Festival Invites Community to Get Creative for a Cause

Crop, Craft, & Create Fundraiser welcomes scrapbookers, quilters, knitters, crocheters, and makers of all kinds for a full day of creativity and community.

MAUMEE, OH — October 20, 2026 — Calling all crafters! The Northwest Ohio Teen Book Festival is inviting the community to grab their projects, gather their supplies, and spend a day creating for a cause at Crop, Craft, & Create: The Creative Crop, on Saturday, November 7, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Maumee United Methodist Church, 405 Sackett Street in Maumee.

Inspired by traditional scrapbooking crops, where participants gather to work on projects and share their creativity, The Creative Crop expands the concept to welcome makers of all kinds. Scrapbookers, quilters, knitters, crocheters, card makers, and other crafting enthusiasts are invited to enjoy dedicated time to work on their projects while connecting with fellow creators.

Each registered participant will have a full table to spread out their supplies and work comfortably throughout the event. Food and beverages will be provided, with lunch available to preorder for an additional charge.

The event will also feature a special book bedazzling station, where participants can add a little sparkle to their favorite books using rhinestones and other embellishments. The optional activity will be available for an additional fee, with decorating supplies provided.

"We wanted to create an event that brings people together around something they love while supporting something we believe in," said Cindy Barringer, a member of the Northwest Ohio Teen Book Festival organizing committee. "Whether you're finishing a scrapbook, working on a quilt, knitting a scarf, or trying book bedazzling for the first time, The Creative Crop is a chance to enjoy a day of creativity while helping us inspire the next generation of readers."

Participants may register for the full day, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., for $40, or choose a half-day session for $25. Morning sessions run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and afternoon sessions run from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Northwest Ohio Teen Book Festival, which connects young readers with authors and celebrates books, storytelling, and the joy of reading. The festival provides opportunities for teens throughout Northwest Ohio to engage with authors, discover new books, and connect with a community of readers.

Registration is available through Eventbrite. Space is limited, and advance registration is encouraged.
